Dr. Sara L. Fox
Dr. Fox was born in Minnesota, and she will always be partial to the Midwest. She grew up close to nature and enjoys fishing, hiking, and photographing the environment and wildlife. Growing up, her family always had cats. She continued that tradition with a tuxedo named Slinky Tailchaser, who she recently lost to aggressive cancer at only 6 years old. Her heart has been stolen, after only 5 days, by the 3 kittens, she adopted after Slinky’s passing. She graduated with a degree in Animal Sciences from the University of Illinois and went on to get her degree in veterinary medicine from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. She enjoyed volunteering at the Wildlife Clinic and her rotation at Brookfield Zoo. She has volunteered at shelters and worked for not-for-profit organizations. Her dream job would involve working with the large cats, but in the meantime, she enjoys helping their smaller descendants, as well as canine and exotic animal companions. Internal medicine and ophthalmology are her favorite disciplines within the profession. She loves to travel to see unique environments and animals, and her favorite trip so far was to the Galapagos Islands in high school. In her downtime, she is an avid reader of science fiction, fantasy, and paranormal romance novels and movie watcher.
